Winners in the 2008 Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy Photo Contest have been announced, according to photo contest committee chairman Katie Anderson. This year’s theme was “Nature in an Urban Setting” and photos were to be taken in any of Mt. Lebanon’s parks during 2008. There were three categories: Grades K-8; Grades 9-12; and Adult. First place winners in each category received $100; second place winners received $50 and third place winners received $25.
Photographs were judged by a committee consisting of Ed Kubancek, professional photographer, Geoff Hurd, MLNC Board Member, and Katie Anderson, Vice President of the MLNC.
Four of the winning photographs have been made into note cards which are available for sale through the Conservancy. Each package of cards consists of 2 copies of each of the four photographs and sells for $5.00. Copies of similar sets of cards featuring the winners of the previous photo contest are still available for the same price. Orders for the cards can be mailed to the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy, PO Box 14901, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
