Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy
Programs

Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy is dedicated to the preservation of greenspace in Mt. Lebanon and to increasing public awareness of environmental issues.

Since 2005 our programs include:
  • “School in the Park”, which explores the natural resources within our Bird Park.
  • Maintenance, clean-up, and restoration of the natural environment within the Municipality’s parks.
  • Sponsoring Eagle Scout projects in Twin Hills Trails, Robb Hollow Park, Bird Park, and other parks.
  • Partnerships with Mt. Lebanon’s elementary school teachers and with the Environmental Club at the High School to support such programs as the Butterfly Garden at Markham School and the outdoor classroom at Howe School.
  • “Holiday for Birds” held for young children in early December at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library.
  • The 2005 Photography Contest entitled “Nature in an Urban Setting”.
  • Successfully completed BioBlitz Twin Hill Trails.
