Mt. Lebanon has expanded the types
of plastic products that residents can
recycle at curbside. Previously, only
products marked with a “1” or a “2” would be accepted. Now, types "3", "4"
and "5" have been added to the program.
Current Events:
Time to enter the 2008 Photo Contest. Photos are to be taken in a Mt. Lebanon Park or designated greenspace between September 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008. Click here for a submission form. Deadline for submission is August 15, 2008.

Walk in the Park with Naturalist Verna McGinley
On Saturday April 26, Verna McGinley led a beginner’s nature walk in
Bird Park. Verna identified various birds, plants and trees living in the park. She also demonstrated proper use of binoculars and show how the field guide. This event was sponsored by the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy.

Birds and Plants of the Holy Land with Naturalist Verna McGinley
On saturday, April 19th local naturalist Verna McGinley presented a beginner’s exploration of plants and birds mentioned in the sacred scriptures. The program included a slide presentation of some of the 300 birds mentioned in scripture. This event was sponsored by the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy
in observance of Earth Day and Arbor Day 2008

Bird Park Clean-up Day
On Saturday morning, October 20, 2007, three Conservancy members, their families, and four members of the Mt. Lebanon community, their families, and others converged on Bird Park for a three-hour cleanup.
