Garden Tour 2018

 In Uncategorized

July 8th was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and over 125 people visited the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy stop in Bird Park on the 2018 Mt. Lebanon Library Garden Tour. The Conservancy created a nature trail approximately 120 yds long, with plant descriptions and interesting forest facts along the way. The path ended near the restoration area, where invasive plants were removed and a meadow and new trees were planted.  Conservancy board members were there to answer questions. The labeled nature trail was so well-received that the signage remained up for an additional two weeks, to give others a chance to visit the site. Thanks to the library staff and volunteers, and to the Conservancy board members who donated time to the event-Allison McGee, Tom Schvetchuk, Mickey Stobbe, Laura Teufel, and Ron Block. Thanks also to Pam Burrett, who staffed the Arboretum booth at Spalding Circle.
