Hello, young(ish) nature-lover!
Are you a young person and new to Pittsburgh? Are you back in Pittsburgh after some time away and trying to meet new people? Do you have an easier time making friends when you're doing a shared activity? (Relatable)
Well, good news!
People like you are meeting from 10am - 12pm on Saturday, June 27th to remove invasive plants and clean up Bird Park, the largest natural space in Mt. Lebanon.
snacks and lemonade will be provided
What you need to do:
bring water and gloves if you have them.
(we will have some to borrow if you don’t)wear long pants and sleeves for protection from ticks and poison ivy
meet at the Beadling Road entrance to Bird Park

What we’ll do for you:
help you learn to tell invasives from native plants and safely remove invasives
introduce you to other participants with ice-breakers and friendly facilitation
(ex. if you were a wild animal, what would your natural habitat be like?)send you into the woods with conversation starters and mindfulness tools to help you make the most of your time while you’re tending the earth
provide backup: tools, bug spray, sunscreen, refreshments, and good vibes
