Join the Green Reads Book Group for a lively discussion of Raising Hare: A Memoir by Chloe Dalton. Ask at the Mt. Lebanon Library Circulation Desk in August.
Dalton writes of her experience rescuing and raising a baby hare (leveret) during the COVID-19 lockdown in the English countryside. The memoir details the unlikely, years-long relationship that develops as the wild hare becomes a companion, coming and going from her home, and includes historical and literary context about hares. It explores theme of freedom, trust, and the human-animal bond.
The Green Reads group meets six times a year (February, March, May, September, October, November) and focuses on books related to nature, conservation, and environmental action. The book group is co-hosted by the library and Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy.
