Join the Green Reads Book Group for a lively discussion of The Way Through the Woods: Overcoming Grief Through Nature by Long Litt Woon. Ask at the Mt. Lebanon Library Circulation Desk in September.
A month after Woon arrived in Norway from Malaysia as an exchange student, she met Eiolf. They fell in love, married, and settled into their lives together for 32 years. Then Eiolf’s unexpected death at fifty-four left Woon struggling to imagine a life without her partner and anchor. Adrift in grief, she signed up for a beginner’s course on mushrooming — a course the two of them had planned to take together — and found, to her surprise, that the pursuit of mushrooms rekindled her zest for life.
The Green Reads group meets six times a year (February, March, May, September, October, November) and focuses on books related to nature, conservation, and environmental action. The book group is co-hosted by the library and Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy.
