GREEN READS Appalachian Spring

  • Mt. Lebanon Public Library 16 Castle Shannon Boulevard Pittsburgh, PA, 15228 United States (map)

Join the Green Reads Book Group for a lively discussion of Appalachian Spring by Marcia Bonta. Ask at the Mt. Lebanon Library Circulation Desk in February.

Marcia Bonta is a naturalist-writer who has lived for decades on a five-hundred-acre mountaintop farm in Central Pennsylvania. In Appalachian Spring, the intricacies of the season unravel day by day in journal entries that combine Bonta’s own meticulous observations with the research reported by botanists, entomologists, and other natural scientists.

The Green Reads group meets six times a year (February, March, May, September, October, November) and focuses on books related to nature, conservation, and environmental action. The book group is co-hosted by the library and Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy.
