Plant Description:
Purple stems bear rounded purple-veined leaves up to 6 inches long. Pink to purple tubular flowers with purple-striped, white throats appear in early summer. They bloom for up to four weeks, much longer than other penstemons, and may rebloom. Grows to 3' tall when in bloom and 1-2' wide.
Planting Instructions:
Prefers partial sun to full sun and average well-drained soils. Does not do well in clay or wet sites. Note: It is short-lived (2-3 seasons) but reseeds close around. Attracts bees, butterflies, hummingbirds.
